Frugalware Linux 1.7 Pre 2

James Buren has announced the availability of the second pre-release of Frugalware Linux 1.7, a general-purpose distribution for intermediate Linux users: "The Frugalware developer team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Frugalware 1.7pre2, the second technical preview of the upcoming 1.7 stable release. Here are some of the major improvements, fixes and updates since 1.7pre1: package updates - Linux kernel 3.4.0, GCC 4.7.0, GNOME 3.4.2, KDE 4.8.2, Xfce 4.10, Firefox 12, Thunderbird 12, GIMP 2.8; LightDM has replaced SLiM as default display manager for Xfce; new default wallpaper. ZevenOS 2.5 "Neptune"

Leszek Lesner has announced the release of ZevenOS 2.5 "Neptune" edition, a Debian-based distribution with a choice of KDE, LXDE and Enlightenment desktops and a number of wireless network diagnostic tools: "The Neptune team is proud to announce the release of ZevnOS 'Neptune' 2.5. This release comes with Linux kernel 3.3.4 with lots of patches and drivers. As usual and for the last time we ship two official variants - 'full' edition with KDE 4.8.3 and 'minimal' edition with LXDE and Enlightenment 17. The full edition comes with Chromium 18, Icedove 10, GIMP 2.8, Kdenlive 0.9.2, Amarok 2.6, VLC 2.0.1 and many more updates. We ship with the latest and greatest multimedia codecs pre-installed. Kororaa Linux 17 Beta

Chris Smart has announced that the initial public beta of Kororaa Linux 17, a Fedora-based distribution with a large number of user-friendly enhancements, is ready for testing: "The first beta release of Kororaa Linux 17 has been released and is available for download, in 32-bit and 64-bit variants for KDE and GNOME. This new release includes major updates of most packages including the Linux kernel (3.3.7), office and desktops (KDE 4.8 and GNOME 3.4). The GNOME 3 desktop has a custom theme available, as well as several extensions to provide an enhanced user experience. The KDE desktop has specific default applications, such as Firefox and VLC."
