KANOTIX 2013 "LinuxTag"
Directly from the LinuxTag 2013 conference and exhibition in Berlin comes a new version of KANOTIX, a Debian-based distribution (with KDE or LXDE) on a live DVD: "I am proud to announce the release of KANOTIX Dragonfire from LinuxTag 2013 in Berlin. Kanotix Dragonfire is based on the recently released Debian 7.0. Besides KDE as the default desktop environment, beginning with this release there exists a lightweight alternative with LXDE. Additionally, we offer a special image similar to the CeBIT special. The main difference is that it has a pre-installed Steam client, a newer MESA version (9.1.1), gfxdetect and a newer glibc 2.17, KDE SC 4.8.4 and LXDE, Iceweasel 21.0, Linux kernel 3.9; LibreOffice 4.0.3...." Install the Italian Radio on Radio Tray in Ubuntu 13.04 Raring
Radio Tray is one of the most popular Linux users to listen to web radio directly from your Linux distribution. Special features of Radio Tray is to be easy to use and non-invasive because once you start going to add an applet in our panel and from there we will be able to add and manage categories for our favorite web radio.
It supports most popular formats such as m3u. pls ess being written in python we can install
any Linux desktop environment such as Gnome Shell, KDE, Xfce, LXDE
Cinnamon, etc. Mate DE. In recent years lffl has provided a PPA which
allowed to install Radio Tray with already a collection of the major Italian radio such as Radio Rai, Radio Deejay, Radio 105, etc..
Given the many demands of the deb packages we decided to make an exception to the rule that does not give the packages but the list with the web radio constantly updated so that it can be installed in any Linux distribution.
I also remember that you can create a list with your favorite web radio by placing links that can be found for example from this portal.
To install the Italian Radio on Radio Tray in Ubuntu, Debian, Arch Linux, Fedora, etc. the first thing to do is to install Radio Tray application usually found in the repositories of major Linux distributions.
For Ubuntu, for example, just start Ubuntu or Ubuntu Software Center Apps Directory once installed the Radio Tray are moving and we will find the list of various foreign web radio.
What we need to do is to close Radio Tray and start the terminal and type:
- wget https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/964512/lffl/bookmarks.xml
- mv bookmarks.xml ~/.local/share/radiotray
Once this is done reboot Radio Tray Italian Radio and here are collected in categories.
If you have any web radio that does not work you can report it, correct it promptly list it so that it remains up to date and running. To update the list, just repeat the above procedure.

Manjaro Linux 0.8.5 "MATE", "LXDE", "KDE"
The Manjaro development team has announced the release of three community editions of Manjaro Linux 0.8.5, featuring the MATE, LXDE and KDE desktop environments: "We are happy to announce three new Manjaro community editions featuring MATE 1.6, LXDE 0.5.5 and KDE 4.10.2. The community editions of Manjaro Linux are released as bonus flavours in addition to those officially supported and maintained by the Manjaro team, provided that the time and resources necessary are available to do so. Yusuf and Cumali from Manjaro Turkey released Manjaro KDE 2013.04 based on Manjaro stable repositories. It features the brand new KDE SC 4.10.2 point release." Monitor Laptop Battery Life with LXDE on Ubuntu or Linux Mint
If you install and activate the LXDE desktop environment in Ubuntu / Linux Mint, you will notice that the status icon of the battery life is lacking, which prevents users from knowing the battery level of their laptops. In this article, we will see how to use fdpowermon – a simple tool for monitoring battery power of mobile computers with ACPI -. To view the battery status icon in the taskbar life To install fdpowermon 12.10/12.04 in Ubuntu or Linux Mint 14/13, open the terminal and run the command:
sudo apt-get install fdpowermonWe will now configure fdpowermon to start automatically after logging on to your desktop. To do this, edit this file (replace gedit with your favorite text editor):
gksu gedit / etc / xdg / lxsession / LXDE / autostartAdd this line: @ fdpowermon
Save the file and exit. The status icon will show the battery automatically at system startup:

SparkyLinux 2.1 "GameOver"
Paweł Pijanowski has announced the release of SparkyLinux 2.1 "GameOver" edition, a Debian-based distribution with a customised LXDE desktop and a good collection of games: "Brand new, two-egged SparkyLinux 2.1 'GameOver' is out. It's the second, special edition of SparkyLinux 'GameOver' released for Easter 2013. It has been directly built on SparkyLinux 2.1 'Eris' and Debian 'Wheezy'. All packages have been synchronized with the Debian testing repository as of 2013-03-24. I made a few big changes so the system features: Linux kernel 3.2 i386 for old PCs and Linux kernel 3.8-liquorix (option) i686-pae for modern PCs designed for multimedia and gaming; glibc has been updated up to 2.17 from the experimental repository; Iceweasel, VLC, Leafpad, Pidgin, Transmission, XChat...." SparkyLinux 2.1
Paweł Pijanowski has announced the release of SparkyLinux 2.1, a Debian-based desktop Linux distribution with a choice of Enlightenment, LXDE, MATE or Openbox desktops user interfaces: "I am happy to announce the final versions of SparkyLinux 'Eris' 2.1 E17/LXDE, 2.1 MATE edition and update of 2.1.1 Ultra edition. The ISO images provide bug fixes, updates and new features. All new images of SparkyLinux 'Eris' have been synchronised between themselves and all packages upgraded from Debian testing repository as of 2013-03-15. The new live system provides: Linux kernel 3.2.39; minor bugs fixes; live system on USB stick fixes; full system installation on USB stick; new set of wallpapers. Porteus 2.0 RC1
Ira McDaniel has announced the availability of the first release candidate for Porteus 2.0, a set of Slackware-based live images with a choice of KDE 4, LXDE, Razor-qt and Xfce desktop environments: "The Porteus community is excited to announce Porteus 2.0 RC1, the first development release of a new version for our standard and Xfce editions. Porteus is a lightweight, highly configurable and flexible live distribution based on Slackware that is optimized to run from USB drives, flash cards, CDs or other storage media. Comfusion 4.1

siduction 12.2.0 RC1
Ferdinand Thommes has announced the availability of the first release candidate for siduction 12.2.0, a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian's unstable branch and featuring four desktop environments - KDE, LXDE, Razor-qt and Xfce: "We are happy to present the first release candidate of siduction 2012.2 - 'Riders on the Storm'. Siduction 2012.2 ships with four desktop environments: KDE, Xfce, LXDE and Razor-qt, all in 32-bit and 64-bit variants. Manjaro Linux 0.8.2 "LXDE"

Hanthana Linux 17 "LXDE"

Mandriva Linux 2012 Alpha

GhostBSD LXDE 3.0 Beta 1 Available for Testing
GhostBSD LXDE, a FreeBSD-based operating system based on LXDE desktop environment, is now at version 3.0 Beta 1.
GhostBSD 3.0 Beta 1 is now available in the LXDE flavor. The developers already have a GNOME 2 distribution launched and are planning to release another one with Gnome 3 support.
Highlights of GhostBSD LXDE 3.0 Beta 1:
• FreeBSD 9.0 r3 has been updated to FreeBSD 9.1-BETA 1;
• A new look, more clean and clear, has been implemented;
• A major installer bug has been fixed;
• The installer swamping the entire disk has been fixed;
• Installation errors are now reported;
• Support for ZFS has been added;
• Improvements to wifi have been implemented.

Siduction 12.1.1
Ferdinand Thommes has announced the release of siduction 12.1.1, a minor update of the project's 12.1 version released a month ago, based on Debian's unstable branch: "Today we released the first fix release of siduction 2012.1 'Desperado', called 2012.1.1 'Desperado Reloaded'. Besides small enhancements the main reason for this fix release was to ship the full set of KDE SC 4.8.4. This version is shipped with three desktop environments - KDE SC, Xfce and LXDE, all in 32-bit and 64-bit variants. The released images are a snapshot of Debian 'Unstable' from 2012-06-24. They are enhanced with some useful packages and scripts, our own installer and a custom-patched version of the linux-kernel 3.4.4, accompanied by X.Org Server 1.12.1."
