reNIX is an interesting Android like GTK theme that uses a squared Metacity theme and is compatible with both Unity and GNOME Shell.
The theme works with GTK 3.4
(used in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Fedora 17, etc.), it requires
the Murrine and Pixbuf GTK2 engines as well as Unico and Adwaita GTK3
engines and is based on the GTKdroid Metacity theme and NIX GTK3 theme.
reNIX comes with two Metacity
themes, one for Unity (called "reNIX") and one for GNOME Shell (called
"reNIX GS") which only work in Unity respectively GNOME Shell, so don't
use the GNOME Shell theme in Unity or the other way around!
Here are a few more reNIX GTK theme screenshots:

Install reNIX GTK3 theme in Ubuntu 12.04
To make it easier to install and
update, I've uploaded reNIX GTK3 theme to the WebUpd8 Themes PPA, so
Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin users can install it using the following
commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/themes sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install renix-gtk-theme
If you're using Chrome, there's also a matching Chrome/Chromium theme available @ Gnome-Look.
In the screenshots above, you'll also notice that I'm using the Faience Azur icon theme, which I've customized to use light icons for the toolbar and panel (which are dark). The reNIX GTK theme package uses Faience Azur Dark as a recommended package, so when installing the theme from our PPA, the icon theme should be installed automatically. If you don't want to install Faience Azur Dark icon theme, use "sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends renix-gtk-theme" instead of the last command above.

To use reNIX theme, launch GNOME Tweak Tool, Unsettings, MyUnity or Ubuntu Tweak and set reNIX as the GTK and window theme and optionally, also set Faience Azur Dark as the icon theme.
For other Linux distributions, you can download reNIX from Gnome-Look and Faience Azur Dark icon theme from HERE (it requires the Faenza and Faience icon themes).
Another nice Android like GTK/GNOME Shell theme pack is Holo, but unfortunately it doesn't work properly with Unity.
